It looks like one of those fabrics that you have to bunch around yourself like a towel to see how it translates. I think it could be quite forgiving because the stripe interrupts so much that the eye no longer sees it as a stripe. Let us know how it comes out. I like the fabric.sewistafashionistahttp://sewstorebought.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1516916206610432153.post-83187494790537247182010-07-31T06:30:16.155-04:002010-07-31T06:30:16.155-04:00I love that vintage pattern and think that a combi...I love that vintage pattern and think that a combination of the stripes for the skirt and plain colour for the top will look beautiful. Personally, I think blue would be very nice but you could pick out any of the colours, depending on what fabric is available.Eugeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07584571701550775408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1516916206610432153.post-38023455470910117992010-07-31T00:58:33.443-04:002010-07-31T00:58:33.443-04:00I like your idea Elle, to use the zig zaggy stripe...I like your idea Elle, to use the zig zaggy stripes for the skirt. ginny's suggestion for grey on the top is my thought too. What about using some of the stripes in a pocket or collar detail also?

You've been really busy lately!Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03517527498809073174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1516916206610432153.post-68342267543025150702010-07-30T15:36:11.581-04:002010-07-30T15:36:11.581-04:00I really like the fabric Elle --- it has a 50'...I really like the fabric Elle --- it has a 50's vibe (perhaps due to the color combination) that I think compliments the pattern style nicely. Personally I'd choose the dark grey for the bodice because I think it would be sharp, sophisticated accent color (and maybe partially --- though it's totally irrelevant --- because of my personal experience of light blue being a washout color for my pale complexion LOL).ginnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12471994399712039428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1516916206610432153.post-44418075212081885492010-07-30T15:13:31.406-04:002010-07-30T15:13:31.406-04:00I think that would look great!I think that would look great!Heather Duby-Tharpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17319388117592397568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1516916206610432153.post-83547744714018111392010-07-30T14:48:57.231-04:002010-07-30T14:48:57.231-04:00I think the fabric is great for the skirt and I...I think the fabric is great for the skirt and I'd go with the pale blue in same type of fabric for the bodice(?) with a contrasting belt/sash...in maybe the brown and brown buttons.KilaRohner.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18056084669884459781noreply@blogger.com
