The "Wedding Dress" In Action

Last Friday (11-11-11) I attended the wedding of my niece, and wore the Vogue 1252 Tracy Reese animal print dress. I opted for sheer hose, "caged" platform pumps from Talbots, and bracelets and earrings from 2 of my Etsy friends.

Of course, my arms look strange in most of these pictures, but all in all, the dress was really comfortable. I didn't end up tacking any of the gathers, as recommended by the pattern. It just wasn't necessary. Quite an exciting and fun evening!

A friend of mine makes these adorable diaper cover bloomers and matching dresses out of vintage sheets. She's Jennifer, and she is the brains behind iWunder, iWunderSews, and iWunderVintage, all on Etsy. Several weeks ago, she had a customer who bought a first set, and Jennifer sent her my way to personalize the bloomers. Then the lovely customer bought some more! Machine embroidery, and a day of shopping with a friend, were what was on my agenda today.

The lucky Mae and Amelia (and Atlee, too) will all have their diapers covered in style very soon.

What to Wear in your Hair, Wedding Edition

I've got weddings on the mind these days, what with the planning of daughter Laura's June wedding. In the interest of full disclosure, she is really doing all the planning, and I'm just the back up, go-fer, and companion for various activities if there are no bridesmaids around.
